Blame it on reality television

Sorry I have been away so long, but that is what happens when the Foundation sends you on a mission. There will probably more instances of blogger silence from me which I apologize for in advance.  It seems that Fergus frowns on me writing blogs while I am supposed to be lying low.

While I was away, I did have time to watch lots of television. There are so many reality shows I can’t even begin to name them all, but they all have one thing in common. There is no reality in them. I have watched more “ladies” behave in a manor most unladylike and men act more like animals than any of my species. That is not true life. At least I hope it isn’t.

Call me old fashioned, (do not compare me to Fergus) but I miss the days when you could pay a woman a complement and she did not take it as a sexiest remark. I also miss the days of taking a lady for a date and having quiet conversation. She paid attention to me, and I to her. There we no cell phones, no texting, no television to watch, and dancing. I really miss dancing. And no, shaking and gyrating your ass like a cat in heat does not constitute dancing.

Don’t get me wrong. I enjoy watching the female form, and may have watched professional women wrestlers from time to time. However, that was a scripted television show. Not real life. You would never see the Fabulous Moolah or Mae Young wearing low slung jeans with their underwear hanging out.

Women today show more skin and act less like ladies than most of the working girls that worked the saloons when I was a boy. I do not need to know what color thong you are wearing before I get to know your name. I do not need to see you down sixteen Appletinis and throw up on yourselves or me.

So ladies, I am asking you not to give into the non-reality of reality television. Most people do not live like that, and despite what you may think, emulating the women from those shows, I will not name, is not sexy.

Just one wolf's opinion.

  1. I'm surprised by this opinion you have Ghost. I actually didn't expect this from you. You know, you seem like the kind of guy to like...... any kind of woman :)

Guess I need to get to know you better!

    1. I enjoy both looking at and spending time with women. Maybe it is my upbringing, and the constant nagging voice of Saint in my ear, but I do have a few standards.

  2. So true! But you have to admit, if it was real reality most people would find it quite boring. It is that eternal quest for drama to entertain us that drives the popularity of these shows. Apparently drama is what people want in their lives most of all, even more than peace and quiet. I say, 'save the drama for your mama'! I will take the boredom, thank you.
